Friday evening, October 9 at about 10pm, the resident at a home in the 1900 block of Adams Avenue reported small fire outside one of his bedroom windows. He said that he saw a flicker of light, and heard something impact on his roof. When he went to investigate, he discovered the fire. He quickly extinguished it and called 911.
Responding officers found two beer bottles filled with a liquid accelerant and a torn strip of fabric sticking out of the top. This is commonly known as a "molotov cocktail". One had been lit and one had not been.
The resident reports having no enemies or problems with anyone. A neighbor had reported a tire slashing the previous evening, but it is unknown if the events are connected.
Officers will be giving the area extra patrol.
If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious near that time on Friday evening, please call SAPD.
